Using timber gathered from sustainable sources we create woodchip biofuel from virgin softwood, which supplies not only Fir Farm but also many local businesses with an eco-friendly source of fuel.
All timber is gathered from within a 20 mile radius of Fir Farm to ensure our environmental impact is kept at a minimum. After being stored for a minimum of nine months for optimum moisture content, timber is chipped on site by us to exacting particle size standards. The result is a high-quality, sustainable biofuel, suitable for biomass boilers.
